Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ingria in Russia (ELCIR)
History:
The history of Lutheranism among the Ingrian people dates back to 1611. The Communist Revolution led to a period of persecution for Lutherans in Russia. Following the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, the ELCIR officially received state recognition in 1992.
