The Lutheran Leadership Development Program (LLDP) is a two-year certificate program which aims to provide Lutheran church bodies around the world an opportunity to develop leaders who are competent in both solid confessional Lutheran theology as well as practical skills in leadership and resource management, such as organizational dynamics, task management, budgeting, strategic planning, and accountability.
The program is suitable for those who desire to grow in theological, pastoral, liturgical, missiological, apologetic, and practical leadership in the context of an increasingly hostile environment for the churches of the Lutheran Confessions.
The LLDP is a certificate project of the International Lutheran Council working in cooperation with The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), Concordia Publishing House (CPH), and Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana (CTSFW). While the LLDP is a program of the ILC, the program itself is administered by CTSFW, while Concordia Publishing House—as the leading publishing house of world Lutheranism—provides publishing and resource support.
The initial cost of the Lutheran Leadership Development has been covered through a grant from Concordia Publishing House. The home church bodies of participants in the LLDP will also be included as contributors to the program.
